Why have we joined the Balkan Solar Roofs Campaign?

Today, humanity is facing a serious shortage of energy and will have to take all the necessary actions in order to use the existing resources as efficiently as possible. Bearing in mind this fact, the municipality of Priboj, together with other members of this campaign, aims to promote the idea of ​​energy efficiency and emphasize the need that the local population and the entire region have for energy and its efficient use.

What are our ambitions in terms of energy and climate?

The municipality of Priboj, in its Development Plan until 2028, foresees the energy transition and the improvement of environmental protection and the provision of clean and healthy air. The goals are: to provide universal access to economically acceptable, reliable and modern energy services; significantly increase the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix; double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency; energy rehabilitation and replacement of heating systems of public buildings, residential and commercial buildings and househol; support for the introduction and development of the use of renewable energy sources in public, residential and economic facilities and services.

What are our strengths to turn these ambitions into reality?

Based on the analysis of the state of the municipality of Priboj, surveys, interviews and consultations with citizens and representatives of the public, civil and economic sectors, insight into existing public documents policy and planning documents, it is evident that in the municipality of Priboj, four elements of the future, desired state of development are in focus. In this sense, the Vision for the Development of the Municipality of Priboj and the entire Plan
of development are placed on four levels that are interconnected and intersect, or even better, as four concentric circles, with citizens in the center: healthy, satisfied and fulfilled citizens; improved living environment; preserved cultural heritage; leadership.Priboj is a green, carbon-neutral, ecological and healthy municipality, which is and in the future will increasingly be a regional leader, an innovative and sustainable community of healthy, satisfied and accomplished citizens, ready to invest their knowledge and social capital in the improvement of the environment, the local economy, the development of agriculture, tourism and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage.
