What are our ambitions in terms of energy and climate?

In its seven-year city development plan, the city of Užice singled out the development of sustainable energy as a priority goal. As part of this priority goal, the City of Užice plans to establish, that is, open a Budget Fund for the improvement of energy efficiency in order to record funds intended for the financing of projects, programs and activities related to the improvement of energy efficiency. After successful household energy renovation projects, this city wants to contribute to increasing citizens' awareness of solar energy and provide them with support during the installation of solar panels through international projects and the support of international funds.

What are our strengths to turn these ambitions into reality?

Since 2015, the city of Užice has been continuously conducting a public competition for co-financing energy efficiency measures in family houses and residential buildings, which are financially realized with the funds of the local budget, and from 2021 also by pooling funds from the national level (ministries of mining and energy and environmental protection). Bearing in mind that this city represents the economic center of the Zlatibor district in the area of processing industry, it is very important to preserve the environment and encourage first of all entrepreneurs and then public institutions and citizens to use renewable energy sources.
